The Forced Medicating of America

By Paul M. Theys

How many medical drugs do you take each day?  If you take none, you are one of the lucky few!  But if several new bills are passed into law, you will be taking more drugs than you may care to take or you could spend a few nights in jail.

It seems like suddenly there are so many pharmaceutical companies that want their drugs to be taken by more people, whether the person wants to take the drugs or not.  Perhaps you are familiar with the story of Daniel Hauser, the 13-year-old in Minnesota who is being forced to undergo chemotherapy for the diagnosis of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (a type of cancer) despite his and his parent’s wishes.  The boy had one session of chemotherapy then refused to have any more treatments because the chemo made him feel terrible.  So his family honored his wishes and sought natural methods of healing the cancer; but the court ordered the boy to undergo the chemotherapy.  When the mother and boy left Minnesota to avoid the treatments, he was hunted down by the U.S. Marshalls; even InterPol was called in to make sure the body was taken into custody to undergo treatments.

But Daniel Hauser is only one case where medical drugs are being forced onto those who do not want them.

The Mother’s Act

The Mother’s Act is before the senate at this time; it is expected to be passed within the year as it already has been passed by the House of Representatives.  Once it becomes law, it will be mandatory for all pregnant women to undergo psychiatric testing to determine if they may get postpartum depression.  If the testing indicates she may get PPD, she will have to take a psychiatric drug during her pregnancy.

As things stand, the Journal of Psychiatric Practice (2007) estimated that 99% of pregnant women take at least 1 drug daily during pregnancy, with the average woman taking 13.6, with the majority of the drugs being psychotropic drugs (anti-depressant drugs, anti-anxiety drugs, etc.).  In 2007, pregnant women (or their doctors) made 7,083 reports of adverse reactions from taking psychotropic drugs to the FDA; the reactions were:  miscarriages (1,057), premature births (511), birth defects (2,785) and incidences of heart disease (2,730).  The FDA also stated in its report that they know only a maximum of 10% of those who experience adverse reactions actually report the reactions, meaning the possibility of over 63,000 reactions from pregnant women using psychotropic drugs.

It is also estimated that 11% of women experience postpartum depression.  But the New Freedom Commission Initiative on Mental Health, formed in April 2004 by former president George W. Bush, wants all pregnant women screened for PPD and started on psychotropic drugs if they are not already taking a psych drug.  And it will be legally enforced if a woman chooses not to take the drug.

With an average of 6 million pregnancies per year, it means an average of 6 million unborn children will be faced with absorbing psychological chemicals into their brains and bodies before they are even born.

And the FDA has reported that they don’t know the full effects of these drugs on the unborn, other than to say that 10% of the pregnant women who experience “adverse reactions” to these drugs have had miscarriages, birth defects and premature births.

Psychological Testing for Newborns

Also being considered as a law is the mandatory testing of all children from the first day of birth to age 17 (they also want all adults tested as well).  The same Commission that wants all pregnant women to undergo psychological testing wants all children to be tested as well.  At the present time, 40% of children and teenagers use psychiatric drugs.  The Commission stated that it is helpful to child learning if the children are not disruptive in the classroom.

But studies have shown an alarming indication that children who take psychiatric drugs are twice as likely to think about or commit suicide.  The drugs also impair brain development, stunt physical growth and cause sudden death.  Frequent adverse effects as reported by the FDA are psychotic reactions (murder, violent rages) and manic reactions (delusional thoughts, intense irritability, delusions of grandeur).  In fact, 8 out of 13 school shootings and “senseless murders” are caused by children on psychotropic drugs.

This “concept” is already underway in Illinois.

Other industrialized nations believe that no psychotropic drug should be used in children under the age of 18.

High Blood Pressure Drugging

Also being considered for a law is that every person over the age of 50 has to take a high blood pressure pill (also called antihypertensives) NO MATTER if they have a diagnosis of high blood pressure or not.  If you’re over 50, you get a prescription for a high blood pressure drug.

Testing for Swine Flu H1N1

Did you know that if your employer suspects you have Swine Flu H1N1 that you can be forced to undergo testing to see if you have the virus, then submit to taking the drugs being used to treat the virus?  Although the Swine Flu H1N1 is causing no more problems to health than the common cold, and has caused the death of less than 1% of those infected, the president had declared martial law to force people to be tested for the Swine Flu.

What Can You Do?

You need to decide who has the right to determine how you care for your health and that of your family: is it your medical doctor, insurance company, spouse, government or YOU?  If you want to make your own health decisions, I suggest you write your government representatives to encourage them to deny the passage of the bills discussed here.  If you live in a state where certain laws are already enforced, you might want to consider moving.

And if you have been healed through natural means, write articles, tell people, and spread the word. I even advocate telling your medical doctor because he/she needs to see that healing can occur through natural means. The more people that hear the words, the less likely that natural health will be snuffed.

Legally I must say that if you have a health concern, see a medical doctor for diagnosing and treatment. As a human being who wants to live a healthy life, I say see a Classical Homeopath if you have a health concern.
