Dear dream lady
Can you help with this dream. This is a dream that my friend's niece had and she needs help with the interpretation. (This dream comes to me indirectly from the dreamer via the dreamers friend. Reader, please note: it is much easier to help with dreamwork if i can talk to the dreamer directly and i encourage readers to contact the dream lady via the healthy thoughts website.)
Here is the dream: I am in bed, alone, and i have all these walking sticks on my bed. I am eating the walking sticks but I am saving the legs. What does this mean? In talking over this dream, i put myself in the dream. If it were my dream i would say that this dream is about itimacy. There is something about the issue of intimacy that is BUGGING the dreamer!
The dreamer is alone in the bed. The bugs are on the bed, not IN the bed, idicating to me that she and her lover are not in the same bed: ie, not on the same page of this issue. Because the walking stick is in fact an insect tells me that there is something about the relationship that is BUGGING HER! In some circles even the word "insect" is considered a derogatory word, as in, "He is such an insect" or "that insect" or "what an insect!!!"
A walking stick is actually a beautiful insect. It's showy wings are so lovely. So if the insect in the dream is symbolic of the dreamers lover, I would see this as the desirable qualities or handsome aspects of the dreamers lover. The walking stick is in itself a blatant phallic symbol of the male energy of the dreamers' lover, and the walking stick is still an insect!!!
As we gestalt the dream we also acknowledge that a walking stick is a tool or device and aid to assist someone to get from one place to another, so again the male image in the dream can also be seen as an aid/ tool/ device to get from one place to another. To get you where you want to go, or where you want to be, the dreamer is eating the walking sticks. This tells me she is consuming the insects. SHE IS CONSUMED with this issue!!! Does this make any sense to you at all?
I asked the dreamer's friend. oh YES!!!! The dreamer's friend was quick to report. The dreamer is a young woman who is in her mid thirties, in love, eager to get married and start a family - with a loudly ticking biological clock. The handsome and desirable lover is just not interested in marriage, wants to keep his own apartment, want to keep his independence and is just not ready for babies.
Soooooo again, if it were my dream, I would also realize that I am "saving the legs," meaning I am hanging onto the part of the insect that goes from one place to the other (the legs give the insect (and other species) mobility.) But when the legs are ripped off the insect the legs are not a part of the insect and nothing goes anywhere. It is a dead bug, it is a dead walking stick. So if it were my dream, I would pay attention to the wisdom on my dream and let this bug go. There are lots of other lovely bugs out there dear dreamer, so let the "bugger" go. Once he is free of the relationship with you, her may realize his great loss or you will have found your true lovebug!!!!
Remember, dreams always come in the name of healing and wholeness. Thank you dream masters and guides, your guardian angel and creator for this great dream!!!
Sweet dreams from the Dream Lady!!
